Sunday Stills

Today's challenge is food. Now, when you have animals, that can cover a great deal of things! For example, Bubby, the old timer, let me know that Foose isn't the only one who can catch his food;
he came prancing across the yard with a mouse mustache of his own the other day, and when Foose came to investigate, he devoured this fat little field mouse in a hurry.

Bubby, get out of the hay! That's not your food!

The lovely Sparkle is enjoying the hay that we buy from a local supplier, as you can see by her fat little belly.
And yes, after the critters have all been fed, we have to eat too. Here are some of the home canning that we sell at the store where I work:

I might have to buy a jar of the asparagus pickles! Creston is renowned for it's asparagus, it's a huge business here.
And last, but not least, do you all remember my Christmas cake recipe that I posted? Well, here is what's left of it- the last half of the last cake!

Clever post. I never thought of posting food that animals eat. ANd most of my day seems to be spent feeding them. lol!

Good job!

That Christmas cake is amazing! It looks so dense, rich and sweet. I'll have to print that recipe down and make some for Valentine's Day. It looks sort of romantic, don't you think?

I've never tried pickled eggs. I think I'd like to. We have plenty of eggs! But I love asparagus!It's my most fave veggie!

good idea to post the animal's feed! I love fruitcake and didn't make any this year. Would you send it to my blog, please? We eat pickled eggs at Easter time, made with vinegar,sugar and red beets.

I remember the first lizard our first cat brought to us. I had to peel Armywife from the ceiling when it ran over her foot. Happy New Year.

Love the picks, Shirley! Sparkle looks so beautiful with the hair from her mane hanging over her eyes. Her color looks just as beautiful as well. Is it like that up close?

Hi Tom, yes she is that pretty in real life. She is a gorgeous filly.
