Little rascal! Good thing he's cute!
I got to spend the afternoon in the saddle-yipee! I met a lady who boards horses nearby, and she invited me to go trail riding along the dykes near her place. I trailered the B-boy over, rode in her outdoor arena to warm up, then off we went. She was riding a mare, and I must say that since I hadn't ridden Beamer next to a mare since 2006, I didn't know how he would behave, but I needn't have feared; he was his usual well behaved self. A little talking, which earned him the penance of immediate extra work. He loved getting out of his muddy pen and stretching his legs.

We saw a blue heron, and a coyote, and plenty of sign of elk. Rode for over two hours. Even got to lope a little, the footing was nice and dry up on the dyke. Beamer didn't want to get in the trailer and come home; I think he's really bored in his pen. But with the weather steadily getting better, we'll be hitting lots of trails and that'll make him happy.
Since my day started with Foose, I'll close out with him too. He loves to climb trees, and tonight he had an audience.

Looks like a great ride! Of course Beamer was a good boy ,isn't he always?
oh that shredded tp made me laugh
and the look on his face is priceless! :D same look jingles has when she climbs in the garbage:D
Now that we finally have snow it'll be awhile before I get much outdoor riding in.
Not that I'm really complaining, we DID need that snow. Just hope it melts in good time I have to get my ponies in shape!!
darn those exploding rolls of toilet paper.
Very nice, that Foose is quite the rascal. Where is all the snow???
Now I'm starting to think we should have looked harder for a place in Creston.
Thanks for the nice laugh today, Bella loves the toilet paper as well. LOL
lololololol!!! That last picture cracked me up. I would give just about anything to know what the horses were thinking seeing Foose up there in the tree. lol!
Does Foose like to pretend he's a mountain lion or jaguar? heheh!
Foose seems to be asking in a not so polite way for someone to buy him a new toy......something fluffy and that rolls. lol!
Great post!

i don't know what it is about blue herons, but i love to see them. and, amazingly, i occasionally see one in our canyon. so seemingly out of place in a desert canyon, and such a treat.
