And then there were none

The last pup sold today, Ace, whose new name is Hank, is going to be a working ranch dog locally. He took a shine to his new owner right off the bat. It's funny how these things work; I took him for a walk on a string today, I had been considering keeping him and wanted to see if he would come to me when I called and get him more used to his name. After the walk, I got the distinct impression that Ace wasn't his name, he didn't like it; and that he only tolerated me. So, 15 minutes later the phone rings, and someone wanted to know if I still had a pup for sale. When she came over, and spent a few minutes with him, called him Hank, and he followed her all over with no leash, I knew he was going to the right home. The best part is, she lives only a couple of miles away and will be getting some sheep, so I'll have a pace to go work my dogs! Yaaaay!
I've been having a lot of fun taking photos fer the Sunday Stills challenge of shadows, and since I'm usually outside well before 6 AM, I've been getting a few. Here's one that wont make the cut for Sunday, but I like it because it shows that you don't always have to have your subject in the light; you can let the shadows work for you.
Of course, I had to take a bunch of Beamer photos this morning so that I can make a new header.

And Bubby always follows me out to the horse pasture, so I had to set him up out of harm's way.
Well, I'm off to catch Chickory and work her in the round pen, if all goes well I'll be getting on her for the first time this evening.

Sheep. I could only dream. My poor pups have to start on big scary protetive mama cows. None of our dogs have even seen a sheep. I always thought it would be fun to try trialing but it's not going to happen with those fuzzy things and cowboys and sheep apparently done mix. well my cowboy anyway. Glad Hank got a fun home.

It's great how that worked out with Hank and his new home.

Poor Bubby. He doesn't quite look out of harm's way up there. hehe!

My first impression is that Hank is a weird name for a dog, and even weirder that a girl picked it as a name. Glad he got a home though; now you can concentrate on Sammi's training. Sure love that pic of the kitty on horseback!

Love the cat on the back and the horse getting ready to make a big mistake. There's a lolcat in there somewhere ;-).
