Our training session with Chickory went really well, a little free longing to see how she behaved when I asked for a lope- no problem, maybe a tad lazy- a little ground driving, and then on her. She was really relaxed so I only had my friend lead a couple of times around each way, then I took the lead rope as a rein and had my friend walk with us. As you can see in the video, Chicky was licking her lips and chewing, and took everything in stride. We got whoa and back up, and tight circles both ways, then called it a day. I get the impression that Chicky thinks she's a big girl now, and wants me to just get on with it. So next time, if all goes well, we'll ask for a trot and maybe lope- we'll see.

Lookin good! Love those first rides that are relaxed...very rewarding stuff. It just doesn't get much better.
Has she watched you riding other horses? I think it's helped ours be more accepting. Good job so far.

Wow! she is doing well especially if you were comfortable enough to video while riding her .Go you ! and Chickory. Keep doing good work like that and people are going to be bringing you their horses to start
CCC, she has seen me on Beamer, Gussie, and Sassy. I think she has a good idea of what her role is, and is ready to get on with it. I'm really proud of her.
Wow she looks so good and relaxed, she sure does look like she wants to grow up.
That's a perfect first ride...yep, she's ready to move on. I've found that they get bored and when they're ready to learn more, it's best to just go for it. Good Chickory!
