Gumboots and sacrifices

So you wanna see my gumboots? These aren't your average gumboots, and they are rather expensive. I've had them for 5 years, and have 2 pairs. They are made by Dunlop. The heavier ones I use in the winter, they have a thinsulate layer, and I used them all winter, even in -30 weather when I worked at the Rimbey auction market.

They are well worth the money, as my feet don't get cold in them. My husband has a pair too, he wears his all year round. We found out about them when he was working for an electrical contractor doing work in the Dairy barns, all the dairymen were wearing them.

I've had to make a couple of tough decisions; we are struggling financially and have to downscale our expenses and find more income, so I have decided to sell Velvet, and Sammi. I'm pretty particular about where Sammi goes; it has to be a working home. And Velvet- I'd love to see her go to a show home, as she in such a nice moving, eye catching horse the judges will be sure to look at her. It's pretty tough to part with her.

Oh, I wish I had property of my own! Sammi would enjoy our trails maybe.

I am truly sorry to hear of you decision. It shows that this recession is just starting to bite.
Its always hard to sell good horses.

I have to say here that, as I live in one of the most taxed countries, it really pisses me off, that once again, the little man has to suffer for the excesses of the bankers. Keep your chin up, dont let the buggers grind you down!!!

I am sorry and I sure hope you find some good homes for them! If I had a working ranch or did showing, I sure would take one of them. Maybe you will find someone close then you can at least keep in touch with them?

The reasons for the sale suck, hopefully things turn around soon, she sure is a beauty Shirley.

I've been in your boat. Gotta sell animals you love for financial reasons. It always sucks. Here's to finding great new homes.

I sure hope the financial crunch resolves itself for you. There's a place for each of them for sure.

Never had a pair of boots like those. Never needed something so hard core living in a place with probably less than 10 rain storms a year. And any moisture we get is all dried up in a few hours or by the next day. Sounds like you and your hubby get loads of use out of 'em, though.

That Velvet sure is stunning!
