It's creeping ever closer; we had a flurry here which melted off when the sun poked through. The mare's pen drainage system is full up and since the ground here is fairly flat it has nowhere to go. You can see Beamer in his paddock in the back of this photo:
The girls have a nice big dry run-in shelter off the side of the big shop, so they can stay dry. They get paddock turnout during the day, and in at night, as do Beamer and Url. Me, I have to slog through the mud to open gates and lead everyone out, so I'm glad I have my big green gumboots! They are a staple of attire around here!

Yuk!.....A bit like here really, rain, more rain, and a bit more rain, to make sure, there will be a lot more rain!
Gotta say ,I actually prefer the snow ! not a huge fan of mud
Hi Shirley,Our storms coming in tonight
and staying till Monday. Snow to 2000 ft. not far from us. I hate mud and the north wind in the spring. Keep Warm !
I love the color of the sky even though it looks cold and damp.
the clouds over the mountains sure do look pretty.
I am kinda with Fern, prefering the snow, at least its not hard to walk yet.
Yuck! you need some wind now you can borrow ours.
Wow..yuppers...it is a hitin' our parts too, this wkend!
Okay...I'd love to see your "Gumboots'!
KK
LOVELY photo that top one..really nice~
can i see your boots too? they sound like what i found at our local feedstore this week, but they were 20 euros and i thought that as a lot for rubber boots. but if they last more than a year, i should go for it. the black, thin rubber boots i got from the hardware store were only 7 euros but they all have holes after only a year!
Given the choice between your corrals and mine....as much as I hate to say it I think I prefer the snow.
It looks ominously beautiful though... amen for gumboots!!!
Yikes! That's a lot of wet! Well, at least the benefit of all that water and mud, is beautiful green grass, eh? :)
The first photo is gorgeous!
