Yep- Lake Beamer is back. (Yes, he does have high ground, this is the middle of the pen )
Some bad news, Rio's cut isn't looking good, it was slow to heal, and yesterday I managed to scrape off the dead skin and get it draining again, but it looks infected so he is on penicillin now. I'll spare you the graphic images. I've got him penned up again, and I'll be keeping a close eye on things. At least he is -so far- easy to give shots to, he'll be getting the penicillin every 12 hours, so I'd bet he gets fed up with needles after a day or two, poor boy.

Sorry to read about Rios wound , at least if it there was more snow you could walk him throught to clean and debride it (actually works brilliantly)
I have gone to oral antibiotics with my youngsters more and more a) because the little boogers can get needle sour so quickly and B) the stuff I get is a prety broad spectrum and seems to be very effective uniprim
that soupy mess of mush in the grass there is what the lawns here look like. i swear, it must just perpetually rain here non stop. lol.
oiy I hate giving pen to babies! Scarlet oil probably would have killed of the nasties without the pen.. Give it a try if you never have... mind you his wound looked pretty nasty to start with... and not with the mud it's just no good... Gesh I hate Creston winters!
Crazy weather! I hope Rio heals quickly. : )
This makes me shiver...I hate wet and cold together with just the hope of winter around the corner.
Yuck, all our snow melted away in the chinook with the wind and warm temps, but sure am glad we didnt get rain, that looks like a mess.
Hope Rio heals up quickly, no fun to give shots to babies.
Sorry to hear about Rio, hope it sorts itself out!
What a mess, we aren't there yet - but it's only a matter of time. Poor Rio, sorry to hear he got injured.
I am playing catch up here a little bit. I wanted to make sure I had ample time to enjoy your blog. I just love reading about your adventures.
So sorry Rio's boo boo is slow to heal. It must be hard to have to stick him, I'm sure it's confusing for him. I hope it clears up soon.
