This reminds me of my dad telling me when he was little that he and his brothers and sisters would lay bits of yarn on the fence and then find the wren's nests, after the baby birds had hatched and flown, with the colorful yarn interwoven with the twigs and grass.

Ed- that's red cow hair. I don't put Beamer in barb wire pastures without electric fence around the wire.

Love the first picture! BTW, we put straight wire in for the girls and Cinnamon is missing about half her mane! Remember her beautiful mane? I would go back to barbwire in a heartbeat, never had an injury and the horses respected it more.

Hey, you wouldn't know where I may locate one of those stiffer ropes, used for the Balance rein? Did your friend use one?
