The fluff from wild clematis, glowing in the afternoon sun
The resident Canada geese across the canal
The view to the northwest
and always, always the view to the east.
Beamer was busy checking out the cows in the photo above, and Reba was checking out coyote smells.
After that we loped back across the field; the footing is fairly good when the sun softens the 3 inches of snow. Beamer is cautious, if he thinks there's ice, he stops in his tracks and then proceeds cautiously. He was feeling pretty good and even kicked up his heels a little when we started loping- and got scolded.
We got home after a too short ride, so we went into the round pen and trotted circles, trying to break up the snow so it will melt faster. Of course, we had to practice our spins.
Hope you enjoyed the ride!

Very cool! Great pictures as usual.
Dang it Shirley, makes me want to ride! Soon, soon I hope :)
Just the job! Loved it, tried to trailer off to a ride this morning, all the locks on the hitch are frozen solid! There`s an ice glaze on everything! So I`ll just read and watch your blog!
what a great day! footing is still way too poor around here, years like this are when an indoor would be wonderful
Since I can't ride here ....I really enjoyed yours instead. Loved the spin shots it was pretty cool when you crossed over your shadow.
Loved crossing over your shadow around and around and around!
Looks like fun, almost made me dizzy in your spins, been a long time since I been able to spin, hmm wonder if Jessie would do it?
Dizzy now..loved the video and the sound of the snow..Great ride..and the scenery shot is wonderful:)
