Yesterday, Ted did a little reno in the kitchen. (Thanks, Ted!)We have our wood stove in an addition beside the kitchen (we live in a mobile home) and to heat the house we open the kitchen window and use fans to push the heat into the main part of the house. I mentioned that I'd like to have sliding doors instead of the window so we could eliminate at least one of the fans and have a bigger area for the heat to come through, and the landlord approved it. So someone gave us a set of doors from their own reno, and Ted installed them yesterday.
Now we have a door that opens into the mud room/stove room/dog room, and the next project will be to get some drywall up in there. Now, if only I could talk them into tearing down one side of the wall between the kitchen and living room.... better not push my luck.
It was nice enough this afternoon to take Beamer's blankets off and turn him out. But there seems to have been an "occupy the hitching rail" protest going on.
And they weren't in a hurry to leave.
Do I hafta share? Pesky cats!
Hey! We were here first!
When I turned Beamer out, I knew the first thing he'd do is roll- and sure enough...
He wasn't interested in playing at all today. I'm hoping that I'll get some riding time in this weekend, he's so out of shape- but hey, like owner like horse!

oh i do like those windows! it looks real good! :)
I love watching horses roll and shake. Beamer really did have the itchies from his blanket!
Love the door - that will be so nice!
The first photo is breathtaking! Love the kitty on the fence too.
You will love that extra space and the warmth will feel so good. Cats are funny, funny creatures. And Beamer is really quite athletic rolling over easily on both sides and springing right up!
What a beautiful day. I almost forget what a clear blue sky looks like. Great pics.
Loved the cats on the hitch'n post.I have been taking the camera with me and everytime I do the horses and dogs do nothing...as soon as I leave it behind they go nuts. They appear to have a camera magnet sense....brats.
Sure looks like he had a good itch to scratch there. Sure looks beautiful there. Our groundhog saw his shadow, but if its 6 more weeks of winter like we been having I am ok with that!
Sure is beautiful there!
Beamer is looking great, poor pathetic creature that he is!!
Awesome news about the doors!! THAT will really make life easier!!
Thumbs up on the sliding doors.
Laughing at the kitties hogging the hitching rail. I presume you have quite the little parade when you are out doing chores and such?
Beamer is just 'wintering well'. ;-) He looks fabulous, as always though.
Those darn occupy protestors are showing up everywhere ;)
That first photo is stunning and the cats are hilarious. :-)
That first photo is awesome Shirley...nice catch!
When we first moved into our place here, it was the same thing...fans...and a wood stove that didn't work worth a darn. We spent the $$ and had a Blaze King installed in the living room...best investment we made so far on this place.
Nice that your landlords are willing to work with you though.
