He is gorgeous. I absolutely adore owls... even the screech owls we used to have in SC, whose calls would make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up!
What a Great surprise! One day I was riding out on "my" trails, had stopped in some brush - had a funny feeling I was being "watched"... Turned to my left & right at my shoulder height, not a foot from my face sat a beautiful little owl... spots & golden eyes!

That's interesting Emme. This is a barn owl, they are rather uncommon around here. I'm hoping to get a shot of him in flight.

Talk about good camouflage he blends right in there pretty well.
