Waiting

What a difference a day brings. Well, 3 days actually; from this:
to this:
March is in it's usual form, throwing all sorts of different weather at us. You could see the snow disappearing today, and I couldn't be happier. They are forecasting another snowstorm, but I don't think it's going to hit here. Now if the mud would just dry up.....
I checked the flower beds today and the bleeding heart bush is starting to send up new shoots. Don't think I'll clear away the old vegetation just yet though. I really have spring fever today, can't wait to start planting, and I have so many plans for the horses; ground work for Rio, haul Gussie and Chickory to the arena and get them legged up and maybe start ponying Rio.  It's hurry up and wait season. Still.

I just thought today that I should rake the leaves out of my flower bed and see if the crocus have started. It's just been so dang windy here that it's hard to get enthused about doing anything outside, despite the warm temps.

Looks a lot like Christmas here still, oh well it will come

We've had winds and warm temps and the snow is receding. However, I have 'spring' flowers that are buried somewhere under a drift that is still at least 18" high! Oops... north side of house, no sun... lots of snow!

Spring thaws are just wonderful.

I wanted you to know how much your support about Smokey means to me. He had just that look you described - faraway, like he was already in his new life.

And I felt that funny little click with Lily too. Like she's ready too.

I try not to project, but then they do something like that....

Wow green grass???? Nice. We still have lots of brown grass covered in bits of snow. But at least the tempature is warm. I am too exhausted today or I would be outside doing something spring like.
