Fair Photos

I submitted 6 photos for the fall fair, and I'm happy to say that two of them took first place, and two took second place. In first for domestic animals we have:
In the category of farm equipment, this one took first place:
The second place ones were this double rainbow, in local scenery:

And also, this photo of the owl we rescued, taken the day it came back and hung out in the tree for the afternoon.
The ones that didn't place were the columbine, and a photo of my nieces, which I don't have permission to put on the internet.
They had an auction this evening of local agricultural products with all the proceeds going to an Agriculture Bursary, and I bought a half ton of small square bales of horse hay for $50. So I guess I know what I'll be doing tomorrow!

Cool shots! I think I'll enter pictures in the fair next year. Looks like fun! A half ton of "idiot cubes" shouldn't take to long to move. Sounds like you got on a good deal on the hay.

Good for you! That's really neat. I just love the pictures of the dogs, so many captions come to mind...especially after your post on the 24th last month. Pricelss.

Well done. All worthy but I love the collie shot.

Well done... and I'm not surprised. The ONLY critique I have of the three dogs is I might have cropped the top a bit - to focus more on their amazing expressions. But what do I know - you won first place! ha. Nice, nice job.

They are winners!

I use to enter a lot in the fair competions as a child but no longer seem to have the time.

Margaret- I had thought about cropping the photo, but didn't like the shape it would have been- too narrow. It does make the photo a little busy, but serves to draw your attention to the expressions on their faces and gives the photo a frame of reference; 3 collies on the deck, anxiously waiting to be released from their lie down command so they can be the busy ones!

beautiful and congrats! I LOVE that frosted wheel picture! I'm glad it won first, b/c if you told me it was second or third, I'd have questioned the judges mental state!
