Another noob question :D Do you use that halter as show in the video in addition to the regular reigns? Or is it just a better way of tying method for added safety?
Great, thanks for sharing. I have always been leary of tying a horse with a rope halter because of this. I use a web halter to tie and a rope to train. Maybe I can do away with a step now.
M- Most people don't attach reins to a halter. It's more for everything you do on the ground, such as leading or tying up a horse, as well as many ground work exercises. That being said, it is also possible to ride in a rope halter, and many people do, myself included.
Well, what do ya know!? I'm pretty sure my rope halters are 3/8", but I'm going to try that. I always use rope halters; except when I trailer horses, then I use nylon web halters for better distribution of pressure at the poll if something happens. Thanks for sharing Shirley.

Makes total sense, thanks for sharing.
So- I tried it out. It works best on the 1/4 inch rope halters. It does work on the 3/8 inch rope too but it is kind of bulky.
