As promised, here are a couple of photos of Bear, Shayla's black colt.
He is a very friendly little guy. Comes right up and loves to be petted and scratched.
His mama is quite solicitous of him, but is starting to allow him to leave her side and explore.
10 days old now. Those light colored eyes say smokey black to me, and they will darken over time. But I could be wrong, he could be straight black. Shayla does have a sale for him. With his Dash For Cash/Driftwood pedigree, he should make a great prospect for barrels, cowhorse or roping/ranch work. He sure has a nice disposition too.
He didn't have the zoomies, so no real action shots this time.

Awww, he’s adorable. I bet he will be something special!
Sweet shots! Outdoor is ideal for both photos & babies. Bear is cute. I was wondering if Shayla might keep this guy.
Oh he is a looker:)
Aurora- she has several more mares in foal to the sire of this colt- including Belle, Jayne, and her palomino mare Dolly. Jayne's foal will be a keeper whether it's a colt or filly, and if Belle has a colt it is sold in utero.
I certainly appreciate a breeder not keeping all offspring. For many reasons. I mentioned it because I thought Bear was out of her late stallion.
Speaks volumes when a baby is sold before it is even born. That is awesome!
Aurora- yes this colt is by her late stallion, Jets Givemathrashin. She does have her 2 yr old red dun stallion Rex who is being test bred to her mares this year. She is hoping the Jayne will give her a colt from Jet worthy of being a stallion replacement. This colt was spoken for the day he was born, to a home that will use him in a couple events and possibly keep him as a stallion.
Fingers crossed Jayne has a stunning colt!
What a cutie!
As a kid I sure wanted and all black horse. Of course I wanted a white one too.
He is handsome!
