We woke up to -6 C (21 F) this morning, a good hard frost that should be the end of the flies and maple bugs.
The frost makes for good photo ops though!
I checked the river to see if it had any ice, but it didn't. The water level is lower than I have seen it in the 3 years we have been here.
The mares are always at the barn in the mornings, awaiting their ration. I love that they are so peaceful together now that Rally isn't in the mix as she tended to boss Velvet around.
Speaking of Rally, I got a cool update. He has been saddling and ponying Rally and the other day he sent me videos of his granddaughter getting on and riding while he ponied Rally. Boy o boy that gave me a huge happy!
Look how calm Rally is! Just goes to prove that I was right and her bucking with me was my fault for not preparing her well enough. I think she is in good hands now and I am so excited for her future.

i love frost! great photos! ❤️
Rally has you to thank. You gave her a chance and "new lease" on life. Must be rewarding to see a horse succeed, that you started from scratch.
Thumper <3 I love frosty mornings! We have been upper 80-low 90's (F). It will *finally* start cooling off tomorrow. Yippee!!!
Oh what good videos of Rally behaving so good! Your frosty photos are so pretty! I agree with Thumper!
Brrr, We have had some mornings in the 30's(F) but no frosty yet. The river picture is beautiful. You put a good foundation on Rally allowing her to go on and succeed.
You have her the foundation to succeed. That’s pretty amazing. She’s going to be a great horse for them now.
The frosty mane photo is beautiful.

Great pictures! I love a good hoar frost, but hate that it requires such high humidity to form.
You did such a great job with Rally, and I love how far she's come since staying with you. My heart stopped a moment when you said that there was a child on her, then I watched the videos. Amazing progress.
Yeah the granddaughter isnt a child! Looks to be in her 20s
You photos are breathtakingly beautiful, but I am not ready for that stuff yet.
