Winter wears on, the birds are very busy on our feeder and suet.

The suet attracts all but the juncos as they prefer to forage on the ground.

We put our Christmas tree out in the snow for them to have a perch close to the food.

Now we are back in the cold again. This weather is as indecisive as a kid in a candy store!
My word for this year is Kindness. In my thoughts, words and deeds I want to come from a place of kindness. Not to be confused with permissiveness, sometimes kindness comes under the cloak of tough love, especially when it comes to self destructive behavior in the people and animals in our lives.

Wishing you a kindful new year and the banner is very nice. Love that the pups are hanging out.
we put ours out too. beautiful bird photos!
our feeder is very active right now too. The other day I saw some guys out with binoculars and I wondered what the heck they were doing. Turns out they were bird watching.
Kindness is a good word to focus on. Be Kind is a local movement, with posted signs everywhere.
Love the bird pics! Nuthatches are so fun to watch.
Beautiful photos of your winter birds, and a very sweet idea to give them the old Christmas tree. Kindness is always best. It comes from humility and, I think, leads to joy. It certainly isn’t always returned though.
Fun to see your birds! You are always so kind with your words Shirley! Kindness is a great word!
Fun to see the birds, I was just going through the photos of the NYE's snow squalls and all the birds going crazy in the trees and the feeders.
I have to replace the suet I see!
We still have smushy snow on the ground with a promise of ice/rain something this evening and maybe rain or snow on Friday.
Oh well, it is weather. It happens.
Kindess is a good word. I don't have one this year.
in regards to kindness, the greatest kindness ever shown to mankind was when Jesus took upon himself the sins of the entire world unto the end of time, where he was sacrificed upon the cross so that we all may have everlasting life, and be forgiven.
Beautiful bird photos! I hate the freezing rain. We have had some too and it makes it really hard to get Becky in to work.
Kindness is an excellent word for the year, and I do love that you specified that kindness is not permissiveness.
