Word Verification

I don't use word verification on my blog. A lot of bloggers do, and that's up to them. Personally speaking, I get very little spam, and check my comments daily so I can delete any which I consider spam.  I see blogger has decided to use absolutely horrible word verification, and as a result, I probably won't leave comments on the blogs who have that. I'll still read your blogs though, but I just don't need the level of irritation that I get from trying to leave a comment.

I'm not a big fan of word verification either. And now that blogger seems to have a better spam filter it doesn't really seem necessary.

I hate that dumb word verification. I don't use it. It makes my eye's crossed to try and figger out what the word is.

Well said!
You said this so much more succinctly that I did!
It is truly a roadblock to posting...
And, since I seem to have a terrible time deciphering the captcha... I probably won't bother.

I'll have to check out my settings.

I don't get too much spam either, wordpress does an excellent job of filtering out the spam..:-)

can't remember if I turned mine back on or not. I need to go check. I took it off for a while, but I was getting 4-5 ridiculous spam comments a day and was getting irritated. However, I just saw an example of the work verification on Dreamings post and it's even more ridiculous than the spam I was dealing with! I've neglected blog reading again for a few weeks so I hadn't noticed, but blogger could be a little more user friendly and still block out the "robots!"

I agree, that new type of word verification sucks!! It's like Ticketmaster. Sometimes it takes me multiple trys to get it right. Thanks for voicing what I think.

Seems there's a concensus... I don't use word verification as I don't seem to get any spam...although I don't get much of anything...so I don't worry about it. I do however not comment on some of the blogs because it is extremely irritating.
Love the mug from Sherry and what a nice thing to say....she's just a doll.

I have been so horrible about visiting blogs these last few weeks, so as I'm going through several this morning, I'm thinking what in the world???

You're absolutely right - it is horrible.

I don't have problems with spam, and no offensive comments for a while either....maybe I'm fortunate.

I saw a blog from Eastern Europe where the verification words included accented letters as per their language. Goodness knows how one is to post a comment there!

I agree, I think it is unnesecary and kinda a nuisance, and I am not that worried about spam that I rarely get.

I didn't know it was such a pain until I saw someone blog about it and remembered your comment asking me to turn it off. I know why and I am more then happy to turn the dang thing off. :-)
