Yup she has a mohawk tail! Just in the last week. It's rather ridiculous!
I keep hoping she will get her mama's flaxen mane and tail.
Speaking of mama, she has an oddity too:
That's not dirt (I tried to brush them off) those are smutty spots, more commonly seen on palominos- or maybe they are just more obvious on lighter colored horses.
I noticed this the other day; if you zoom in you will see that above the dark line of the barn roof, the sun is highlighting thousands of bits of poplar fluff. I have to use a sieve to scoop it out of the horses water troughs.
It has been 35 C (95F) here for a couple of days, breaking a heat record, but it has cooled off a few degrees. All my roses have popped their first blossoms and my peonies have opened too.
I promised someone to post a photo of my purple iris- this is the first one, I do have a darker one that blooms a little later.

I thought maybe it was a second white spot between her right eye and ear. Must be the sun/camera reflection in the first photo. She is beautiful and well built, love her soft eye.

35? That’s hot! Irish had those spots. I think that they are called bend-or spots after a stallion who had them.
Great pictures! Love the Mohawk tail. My palomino had some of those spots and Rosie has one on her butt.
TeresaA, yes they are called Bend'Or spots. Jaynes fade away as the summer progresses.
Aurora- that spot by her ear is just a bit of bright sunlight highlighting her atlas wing bone.
Baby sure looks plump and healthy. The Mohawk is cute. Cowgirl is a palomino, and she gets those spots.
Her tail is so cute! :0
I've never seen a tail do that :-D.
