Wow, Humphrey sure has gotten comfortable!

Every night!
Those are feral cats- Smokey and on the old washer is Miss Floofy. They are cautious of Humphrey but mostly I think because they can't figure out what the heck he is.

I have to say, that would never fly at our place! But I'm glad you are having fun with critters congregating close to the house. After 4 trips to the vet in under a year to have quills removed from the dogs I have a hate on for porcupines.

Whoa! Yeah, a bit scary! But they all seem to be cohabiting well. As long as the cats know to leave them alone.

Kim- no dogs here, otherwise we wouldn't allow Humphrey to come visit.
I had to laugh last night, when Floofy wanted to sneak past him. He did a quick turn and turned his back to her and fluffed up all his quills. Then he stalked the cat, he kinda got a little territorial and chased her away from his birdseed. Floofy just left with all her dignity intact. It's quite interesting to see how a porcupine interacts with other species. Defensive right away with anything he's unsure of, then once he knows they are not a threat to him he gets bossy. He doesn't attack- he can't run fast enough to do that! It's actually hilarious to watch him run. He leaves for the forest all dignified until he's about 10 ft. away then breaks into a lope which has all his quills rolling from side to side.
Lots of evening entertainment here!

He looks cool but I’m glad we don’t have those around here.
