Remember I mentioned to stay tuned for more horse news?
Here ya go!
Yes that's Gussie! Shayla is going on a mountain trip in August, right about the time Gussie is due to foal, so she brought Gussie here for me to foal out and breed her to Beamer on her foal heat.
She's close to foaling, could be any day now or in a couple of weeks, so I'm on foal watch.
It's nice to have Big Red back for a while! Such a sweet mare.
Shayla spent some time with Ruby while she was here and gave me a few things to work on with her. It was nice to see someone else ride her and especially nice that Shayla liked her.
Meanwhile, we are back into cool rainy weather and even have our furnace on today. I have most of my hay in, just need a few more bales and we will be set. It's so nice to have a lot of pasture that the mares can graze until there's too much snow.

Hi sweet Gussie!
I thought that was Gussie...what a sweet gal...what fun to be on foal watch! We sure need rain...send it this way. We have been really hot and smoky and yesterday and today are much cooler...and we like it! You have very pretty Zinnias!
Excited for your foal watch! We are pretty soggy as well. Hard to find the tomatoes dry enough to pick these days.
This will be fun :-)
How fun is that! I wish someone would bring a mate here to foal! I’d love to experience it again, but have someone else raise the baby.
Foal watch! How exciting!
My zinnias and cosmos are really blossoming! We actually had some rain.
