Plus size, huh?

GoWestFeralWoman did a post recently in which my good buddy Janice left a comment about my plus-plus sized red roan.... now, I know that miss Gussie is packing a few extra pounds, but in her defense, she is pregnant, and I haven't ridden her since she got that cut on her leg.  But that's no excuse for letting her get dangerously fat.
Don't be fooled by her poverty stripes, look at the fat deposit over her rump!
Yesterday, I finished putting up the electric fence in an area of our very large yard that we had designated as a grazing paddock. Originally, I was going to put all the mares and Rio in it, but I couldn't in good conscience put Gussie in to get even fatter.
So just Belle and Rio are in it. Which of course, really upset Gussie and Chickory, who are being kept in the "diet pen" namely the dry corral and Beamer's grazing pen, which has very short grass and is mostly weeds.
Well, didn't that just tick them off!
The upside? They are getting plenty of exercise!

Meanwhile, Belle and Rio are quite content !

Upsetting the apple cart! It does the trick, keeps them guessing! Great shots!

I dont think she looks too fat?....Not really, more like a Galleon in full sail!

Did you notice that Bell looks a bit overweight?? Must be camera angle, eh?

Judy- Belle is just about right- she doesn't have pockets of fat like Gussie does, and she is still nursing Rio. (But not for much longer!)
Cheyenne- Galleon in full sail-ROTFL!

I love the new header picture, actually, all the picutre are very nice. I really don't see any of them to be obnoxiously over weight. I think Gussie just has that extra "glow" to her. I'm positve the extra weight will be esily controlled by you. That's a very nice herd you've got!

That's quite the funny scene there--I've seen very similar out in my pasture! Jealousy abounds.

Alas, the abundant grass has been far, far to kind to my poor Calypso mare. She is fat, which is bad, bad bad for her upright pasterns and too-small QH feet. She is now on an upped exercise plan and will have to endure the indignity of a grazing muzzle...if she keeps it on!

Mine are all a little on the chubby side, well except the yearlings and Kali and Dinero, but not so much so that I am worried yet. They will need a little extra going into winter anyways.

lol, looks like the two of them will shed the pounds in no time if they keep that up! Your horses are so clean! Mine have been taking mud baths!
