Winter trails

Today I saddled up Beamer, took my dogs Tess and Reba, and went trail riding for a couple of hours. The sun was shining, we got to see grouse and deer, and I enjoyed my horses energetic walk. I live in an area where I can ride old backroads for hours, no traffic to worry about and plenty of wildlife. There are elk, moose, deer, coyotes, wolves, bear, cougar and lynx around here. Hope I don't run into any of the predators when I'm out riding by myself! I don't worry about it much, though; my horse is quite sensible, and I have my dogs. (And my guardian angel...)
