Schooling Sassy

Sassy got introduced to the tarp in her first lesson in ground work yesterday. After longeing her a little, with the tarp laying on the ground in the middle of the circle, I started dragging it behind me as I led her, then started rubbing it on her, till I could put it on her back. Looks really concerned, doesn't she?

This didn't bother her much either.

The tarp session ended when she easily walked over the tarp a few times, then I got her to stand quietly on it; as you can see, she figured it was a good chance to graze a little! I worked her a little after that with flipping a rope onto her back and around her belly, before ending the session. A good first day of school!
