I still want to build another shelter, but that will take time to afford all the materials, plus my husband is a bit burnt out on doing projects for me this year!
Snug as a bug.
I rode Beamer the day before it snowed. I let Tay come with me- Good Lord! What a busy dog! She pretty much ran circles around us the whole ride!
We made our way down to the river, and Tay just had to go wading, she loves the water.
This is the same spot I went with Shayla not long ago, all the pretty leaves have fallen and the starkness of winter is setting in.
On our return, the mares lined up to greet him like adoring fans.
Mama Belle only has 5 months to go before foaling! I am pretty excited for this foal, I do have a name picked out for a filly and a few in mind for a colt. One more thing to do before winter hits in full force is to move our holiday trailer in position so I can camp out in the barnyard for foal watch.
It seems strange that so many places are getting their first snow, all across the country and the northern States, and in California they are battling yet another wildfire. This one took out the town of Paradise, which is where fellow blogger Sam Starr had a rental unit, which is gone now. This fire hit hard and fast due to high winds and the losses are devastating. It's just north of the area Shayla is spending the winter, but not a threat there.

Those fires are horrible. It breaks my heart to see the pictures and hear the stories. I just hate fires, and I wish there were some way to solve the problem. I'm glad Shayla won't be affected.
Beamer looks great, as always. What a pretty ride.
As you know, we got snow, too, but not as much as you did. Today, it's supposed to all melt off, and we're leaving for vacation tomorrow afternoon. I pretty much have everything lined up to go.
How is little Drifter doing? Is he separate from the mares?
I am glad your she-shed, I mean hay-shed, is working out so well! Our weather turned and Winter has arrived in WI as well. Just flurries & cold temps, no accumulation. People are whining already, sigh. In the Spring this would be a welcomed heatwave.
Beautiful Beamer ride!! I like exploring trails, but appreciate short familiar rides for all they offer. With nature, there is always something new to absorb. Your fencing looks nice, and Beamer does too - just ask the ladies in waiting!
So pretty, Beamer and the scenery :-).
Good to see Tay! beamer looks accepting of the snow. Those fires are awful. :(
