I am only posting one photo this week for the challenge of a photo that will bring out an emotion in the viewer. The earthquake in Haiti was so devastating and brought about such tragedy that I think the other photos I had to post are just frivolous in comparison.
I'm supplying a
link here to a blog from a woman who has been in Haiti since 1995 and runs a rescue center for sick children; she has many photos and stories of the devastation.

It is so hard to believe that they haven't had one for over 200 years!
That is such a tragedy! Poor people.
Agreed! I have felt tremendous sadness all week.
perfect! Great job!
Ditto. Well done. Great sadness is what I feel on all photos and news articles about this tragedy.
Nicely done. That definitely evokes some emotions.
It is such a tragedy...definitely brings sad emotion, but also frustration that help can't reach the people fast enough.
very confronting post but an excellent choice and very well fitting
it's such a tragic thing to happen
we all feel very sad and devastated.
Very true.
So sad, Martin and I were just talking trying to figure out where to send a donation .I will check out this ladies blog
I've been very sad about things that are going on with me all week and haven't had the heart to post about them because I feel that they pale in comparison to what is going on in Haiti. I feel guilty even crying about my own problems when the Haitians are experiencing much more sadness and tragedy than I am.
I rarely ever watch TV and don't read much news online, but I will check out that blog you mentioned.
Thanks for the post,
~Lisa
they said on the news that this was the most horrific loss of life from a natural disaster since we started keeping records of it. i believe it.
1300 canadians are unaccounted for:(
not just us, but others. i believe we are living in the last days. mom believed these were chastisements from God before the end comes. she might be right.
