I was hoping not to have snow this morning....
But at least it didn't stay. It's pretty gray and gloomy out but at least we don't have the wind and snowdrifts that Alberta got today.
I took the little camera out and tried out some action shots with the horses, with varied results, it seems a little slow on the shutter, I would figure I had the whole horse in a shot and would get only a head or a tail, but I did get a few.
I made Rio earn his keep today- he isn't as fond of zooming as Nitro. The stop action isn't very good here.
I'm going to have to play with the settings, not happy with the focus or shutter speed in the action mode.
I have plenty of subjects though! Oh well, all I really wanted out of this camera was a pocket camera to take with me during the day. I still want to get a really good DSLR for the serious stuff.

Looks good, so far, does it have a "burst " mode or a high speed burst? my lumix gives me my best action shots on that mode , I can cheat and take a bunch then pick the best
I did hear about Calgary I am OK with them keeping the white stuff.
Your camera works great I have given up on a DSLR to expensive for me to drop and where I go it is probably more of an expensive liability.

Great use of the camera and I still have lots to learn with mine and I have had it for over three years now, I have been thinking of taking a class. Rio is looking pretty sure of himself.
I'm in the same boat. I just gave my DSLR to my son (who is far more talented than I) and am looking for a good point and shoot. Canon Powershot maybe?
New camera's are so fun. I like what you captured, especially the second photo of Rio!
I got an inexpensive case with belt loops for my point & shoot to carry on trail rides, it's worked well. I just have to be forgiving with the quality, and remind myself it's not going to be the same as a DSLR.
calgary got 20 centis of snow. typical for them this time of year. glad iam not there anymore :D
i like the pic of the trees, and the last one of gussie. i just love her coloring!!! she is a FAB horse!!!
You took some nice photos - but I know what you mean about a slower shutter. I have a little Panasonic that has shutter lag - have missed a lot of shots with it. You just can't beat a DSLR camera for quick shutter action.
I sure love my cannon, and then I got a smaller camera I thought I would carry along, a fugi, but I hardly ever use it cause the pics are not near as good, so now I take along the bigger one and its not so big I am kinda just used to it.
My little camera is way too slow too and takes some getting use to....I think you did well though.
My VERY VERY favorite little pocket camera is The Canon ELPH... I had purchased one of the very first ones years ago... and keep upgrading. I'm addicted to these nifty little cameras.
I think you did a great job... but your scenery and horses are stunning. :)
