Comment moderation

I hate to have to do this but I am turning comment moderation on. I keep getting spam comments in an Asian language, which is followed by a series of dots which contain a link. I don't mind comments in Spanish or French, as I can usually understand them, but any comment I can't understand gets deleted. Especially comments with incognito links!

non english comments on mine get automatically deleted the second i see them. i can't translate them so i reject them. i don't even click on any links. could contain a virus. what i don't like is comments made in english followed by a rune symbol. that i don't like. i reject those immediately.

Too bad , but it is frustrating to have all the spammers commenting, I am considering it as well

We may have gotten hit by the same rotten person. Sunday AM I had about 15 of them. I turned the jerk in for spam, but I don't know if Blogger took it seriously. If it happens again, I'll probably go to comment moderation too...like you, I hate to have to do that.

I'm not worthy of spamming, I guess! Don't blame you one bit.

here is the scoop on asian comments issue.

They are all nearly all from China, the chinese govt has enlisted millions of chinese citizens to surf the internet as part of the chinese government oppression of the people, ie; censorhship. chinese governemnt automated bots cannot keep up with the attempts of the population at large form gaining outside information apart form govt approved content.

The concept is to have millions of people as a collective intelligence bot scanning for attempts and avenues of communication between the chinese populous and the rest of the world. The censors if you will, post millions of comments on millions of blogs every day all around the world with links or trackbacks then monitor for possible 'communication' not approved by chinese censors between blog owners and chinese or "people of suspicion".

That my friends is the real deal. I just delete as well, sources I have read say its upsurging with the increase and interest with blogging activity worldwide.

sad really
