Back in the day.......

This is what you used to play your music on. An Ipod it is not!
Back in the day......

This horse drawn cultivator was used in gardens; now we use gas powered rototillers.

And here is a tidbit of info for you; before it was Jeep it was Willy's Jeep, and before that the company was called Overland; this one is in Ted's collection of old wheels, with a removable locking hub to hold it in place- no wheel nuts needed.
My husband was a member of two Commemorative Associations; the 9th Battalion Voltigeurs, and the Northwest Mounted Police. He has the uniforms, replicated in authentic detail, circa 1865, and modeled here by two young fellows who were quite delighted to pose in them:

A handsome pair; men always look great in uniform!
Also in our collection of antiques is this icebox, the precursor to refrigerators.

These were all great choices for the challenge. Nice job. :)
Love the scarlet... :)
Do you use your icebox for anything? I trid to get one at an auction (without knowing what I would do with it!) but the bidding went a little too high for me.
We just acquired the icebox and haven't used it for anything yet.
The music box (stereo?? :) is gorgeous!
Love the wheel!
Great selection, especially liked seeing the uniforms being modeled!
You have some excellent pieces. Very well kept. Nice photos of the uniforms too, bet they liked that.
I love the ipod ancestor, a little too big to pack around back then :) My grandfather had a big outfit alot like that one. It was the bees knees once upon a time.
Great shots Shirley! the boys look very dashing! I was smiling looking at the phonograph ,remebering the lovely visit and dinner Martin and I had with you guys , and you played my old favorite Strawberry Roan on it
Great shots! Love the uniforms.
Those are real cool pictures of the past. I especially like the cultivator, I got one like it but not in as good of shape as that.
I've always wanted an icebox....yours is wonderful.
Very,Very cool... My Great Great Grandfather was in the Seaforth Highlanders in the 1890's and my Grandpa was in the Queens Own Rifles in WW2 from Tronto..:-)
Interesting pieces of history. Do you use the music and ice boxes for anything?
I like the cultivator and how you decorated it with the pretty flowers.
