Not so wild weekend

Our Thanksgiving weekend was pretty quiet here. I went elk hunting on Sunday, and all I saw was a great horned owl- which I always consider it a blessing to see one of those gorgeous birds. Of course, no camera! I will have to find another area to hunt, there haven't been elk in my spot since August apparently. As promised, here is my hunting rifle- a Winchester Featherweight 30-06, which we put a fibreglass stock on, and a Weaver 4 power scope. I love the fibreglass stock, she shoots exactly the same every year.

Got some of my outdoor chores done, like getting all the potatoes out of the garden, and sorting out the tomatoes. Next on the list is pulling all the dead plants out and digging out the Dahlia bulbs.
We are still getting gorgeous blue skies and crisp mornings here, I love morning chore time. The sun is just peeking over the mountain when I go out, and there was a neat cloud formation this morning.

The dogs aren't the only ones who follow me around at chore time, Foose likes to come and visit while I'm trying to get photos of Rio... at his own peril....

Rio follows him and Foose better be careful- I think Rio would like to stomp him. Good thing it isn't a skunk, Rio!

He will be getting some more ground work this week. He'll get more time wearing the saddle, and we'll go for a walk around the yard saddled. He sure is a nice colt, I'm really enjoying him and I'm glad we decided to keep him. 

He's not too hard to look at, is he?
