An almost perfect evening

Life

Is
Good
video

Especially when I have good company to share a good meal with and a beautiful evening; my ex-sister in law and her family are visiting overnight. There are only two things to mar a perfect evening- my husband is working out of town so he couldn't be here, and then we saw this rather ominous cloud of smoke to the north:

Turns out it is an oil tanker truck burning , probably crashed on one of the really tight corners near Wyndell. Haven't heard anything about the driver yet.

Update:

I found out that the truck that crashed and sent up all the smoke was carrying transformer oil, which contains PCP's, and that all the oil burned up. The driver managed to escape, just in time, although he did get some burns. The corner he crashed on is an S corner near Sirdar that has claimed more than one rig, the second part of the curve doesn't have the right superelevation and so it's posted for a very slow speed which some truckers ignore to their peril.

Sounds like a nice evening otherwise .Shickory is a smart girl! likes her cool down. She and Cat would make a good pair fighting over who gets in the shower first!Hope Ted is home soon. ANd the truck driver is OK

I loved the video, it`s so nice to see your horse like that. My pony is afraid if I try to do that and walks away.

Don't know if my comment made it through as it gave me an error message. Anyway, I was saying that the pictures are lovely and that sounds like a very nice way to spend an evening, despite the ominous smoke. Hope all that turned out ok.

Love those beautiful evenings like that. Great to hear you're still close to your ex-sister-in-law.

This is paramedic black humour, but there is reason the Kootenays are known for their big, smokin' MVA's! When I tell a co-worker that I am from the Kootenays, I often get this in reply: "Oh, you have been to some big, smokin' MVA's then!"
