So today it's -30C (-22F) again. I'm about to head out to the horses to do chores, and made sure to top up the bird feeders first thing this morning. They were in the trees waiting for me and as soon as I went in the house they descended in flocks, happily feeding on the black-oil Sunflower seeds. I'm thinking of Sherry from Fern Valley Appaloosas sitting on the beach in Mexico, soaking up the sun, and all my blogger friends who live in sunny climes (Mikey, Kris, etc) and wishing I was there too! Oh well, winter won't last forever- it just seems like it. This has been a colder than normal winter and that's what drags it out. We are seriously considering moving to a more temperate climate, as my husband suffers from Seasonal Affective Disorder Syndrome (SADS)- which is basically winter depression. You folks down south wouldn't know about that, but it is common in Canada. So to cheer me up, here is a picture from last summer to brighten up my day!
Lobelia, dianthus, alyssum, carnations....come on spring!

Lovely flowers! I could NEVER live as far north as you do.
My sister lived in northern Michigan and suffered from SADs so badly ended up moving to California last year. She'd spend the entire winter depressed and not herself. It got pretty bad at times. She is MUCH happier and has a much better outlook on life now that she's in sunny Calif. Of course, she has to call and rub it in every now and then that her grass is green and the temps are in the 70s while I have ice and snow and brown.
Wow, that is COLD. Beyond cold. And here in AZ yesterday it was in the high 80s. Sending you some warm sunny AZ wishes!
Ouch...that's COLD! Sending warmer thoughts your way...not that it's much better here :)
Cold here again too :(
Stupid groundhog just HAAAAD to be right. lol
You guys should move here, sorry that the temps are the same but SK gets the most hours of sunlight in Canada (which somehow I find kinda strange. lol)
Oh wait, don't move here I may be too tempted to buy a horse from you! lol
