Rose and Cruiser- March 26- March 28 2013

With a heavy heart I have to tell you all that both foals passed away today. In a way I expected it, but I always had hope that we could will them to live and be healthy. With the help of Dave and Shayla, they were cared for around the clock, and yesterday afternoon they both seemed to be doing well. Today, it was as if a flower had bloomed in all it's beauty yesterday and then faded and wilted today. They both were listless and it was obvious to me that they were losing their will to live.
So I will leave you with some photos from yesterday, Rose and Cruiser in all their short but sweet cuteness.

so sorry Shirley, if they could have made it at all they most certainly would have in your loving care.Love and hugs to you and all who were involved in the efforts to keep them going.Somewhere beyond the rainbow they are in the care of some of the great mares in their own heritage. Rest well little ones

Hugs to ((((Shirley))))

I know you & Shayla & Ted tried all you could - You gave Rose & Cruiser the best while they touched the earth - hugs to ((everyone)) - there for a brief moment I thought they would beat the odds -yes, they were a miracle even for the short time they were here; for them to even survive the birth is 1 out of 10,000...

praying for Gussie's health, and for Belle & baby to come, and that you all get the rest you need

(((Shirley)))

What a sad, sad day. I thank all of you for helping these sweet twins try to overcome their challenges and for allowing us to witness your love of, and dedication to, the animals in your care. I find comfort in fernvalley's imagery of the place that Rose and Cruiser now call home. Sending hugs to all of you, including Gussie.

Oh that is so sad to hear, even if it is rare for twins to survive. I know you did all you could for them and that is all that can be done.

I'm so sorry for you all. I hope Gussie doesn't grieve too much, poor mama. Rose and Cruiser were so sweet cuddled up together. I'm kind of glad they will continue to have each other for company at the bridge, even if it would have been so much nicer for you guys to have had at least one make it. xxx
